I’m always excited when I get the opportunity to speak to a new community of writers. And so the 16th Atlanta Writers Conference was super fun, for all the usual reasons, plus the whole “newness” thing. But not only was it a new community for me, I also tried out a few new things with my talks.
For one thing, this was my first live presentation of “Choosing the Right Editorial Service for You,” a webinar I’ve done in the past that was based on an article I published years ago in The Writer magazine. I also did a more interactive workshop version of my popular talk, “Polishing Your Work for Publication.” This worked out really well and we all had a great time!
You opened my eyes to so many things about publishing. I have a long road ahead but am confident because of your teachings I’ll have no regrets and not lose or get screwed out of money. You are a gem and truly help others like me!—Kimberley Link
Ally made three presentations at the May 2017 Atlanta Writers Conference on book proposals, finding the right editing service, and polishing manuscripts for publication. She was a delight to work with before and during the conference. In the words of one participant: Ally Machate was great! She gave very useful information in a very humorous, down-to-earth manner. She is a treasure!—George Weinstein, Organizer and Author
Ally’s tips on identifying problem areas in your writing have helped me find my weaknesses and strengthen my work in progress. The information was just what I needed to clean up my manuscript.—Jill Cobb, Author
Ally did a great job in presenting the material. She was so knowledgeable and approachable!—Laura Hylton
