Books as Business Cards — Ally Machate at the AI Writing Summit

You’ve likely noticed already, but AI is the hot topic nowadays. Conversations concerning AI are everywhere, and it seems the division in opinions only grows wider as the volume of argument increases. None of these opposing options are helpful, however, if you are someone who seeks nuance; or, if you are someone who is trying to write, market, or sell a book in this new landscape.

Ally Machate, founder and CEO of The Writer’s Ally, will join the AI Writing Summit on Tuesday, September 15, at noon, for a live panel discussion on “Books as Business Cards.”

Ally will also make a second appearance at the summit on Thursday, September 17, discussing what kinds of books still matter in a world where information is free. Registered attendees will be able to watch that presentation’s replay through the end of the event (so be sure to register!).

The five-day virtual AI Writing Summit aims to bridge the gap between perspectives, bringing together more than 40 speakers for live keynote interviews and panel discussions that explore the changing landscape of writing, publishing, and business in the age of AI. Ally’s live panel will look at the role a book can play as a powerful professional calling card—and why authors should think strategically about what their books can do for their businesses.

The summit features a vast array of viewpoints, all centered on the idea of using AI thoughtfully and effectively. Speakers include options from both sides of the AI argument, including those of Cameron Sutter (when AI is the wrong call), Christine Blosdale (brand yourself uniquely with AI), Kim Groshek (decision making and leadership for anyone running a business), Jane Tabachnick (her voice and AI drafts, and what she changed), Denise Wakeman (“Your Book Is Doing Half Its Job”), Nikki Green (how to build an AI author brain), and Richard Schefren (AI Manifesto).
