I ran a repeat webinar for the Editorial Freelancers Association on December 3, 2015 about “How to Write a Winning Book Proposal.”
During my presentation I shared how editors and agents evaluate potential acquisitions and what your proposal must contain to get the coveted attention of these publishing professionals. I explained what goes into a contract-winning book proposal, where to find important information, and how to evaluate your own material to ensure you’re presenting your project—and yourself—in the best possible light.
Here’s what just a few attendees had to say:
The presenter was clear, engaging, and intelligent. She definitely thought about what people need to know, and how
to clearly present those things.YES! I took a similar course on ghostwriting from another group that was significantly more expensive and without as many take-home “use them now” pointers as Ally provided.
The course gave useful guidelines to specific components of a book proposal, as well as things to make sure to include, and things to make sure to avoid. This was so valuable!
I would like to thank Education Coordinator Jennifer Maybin for the invite. For future events, you may check the EFA catalog or contact Jennifer at Education@the-efa.org.
