It’s that time of year again—let’s get awesome for AwesomeCon! The Washington convention center this year features celebrity guests Ben Savage from the comedy series Dear John and Charisma Carpenter of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, just to name a few. And that makes us doubly excited! Because our very own Harrison Demchick will join these beloved actors and other esteemed panelists when he returns to speak to writers at this year’s event giving his popular talk “A Matter of Perspective: Point of View in Fiction.”
A story can be told from all sorts of different perspectives—first-person, third-person limited, third-person omniscient, and more—but point of view is about far more than what pronouns you use. What are the pros and cons of each? How can point of view be used to focus your narrative? And what perspective best reflects the story you want to tell? Novelist, screenwriter, and developmental editor Harrison Demchick guides you through the ins and outs of point of view in his latest offbeat but informative Awesome Con talk on the craft of writing fiction.
There are opportunities to get autographs and interact with the celebrity guests as well as interesting and informative panel discussions, and so much more. AwesomeCon runs March 30 – April 1, 2018 at The Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington D.C.
You may check the AwesomeCon website for more information, or contact Becky Mezzanotte at programming@awesomecon.com.
