The Maryland Writers’ Association Annapolis Chapter had its last meeting of the year on December 16, 2015. How cool to be the year’s closer! I talked about Polishing Your Work for Publication, a subject on the minds of many would-be published authors.
The attendees received tips on improving their work to keep readers’ attention, polishing a manuscript at the technical level, and getting objective feedback before they submit or go to press.
Thank you for your presentation on Wednesday evening. It confirmed some of the many things I’ve done over the years to polish my writing, starting with reading out loud. You also emphasized points that I’ve overlooked…especially the importance of having a critical reader. – Julia McCahill
What an informative presentation! It was an hour of education that spoke to my weak areas of the craft. As I go forward, I am also much more aware of short-comings to avoid the first time around. – Jane Birch
This meeting happened at Maryland Hall, Room 205, 801 Chase Street, Annapolis, MD 21401.
