A successful writer is an educated writer.
There’s a myth out there that writers just need to learn how to write. While perfecting your craft is essential, it isn’t enough. Writers who are educated about the publishing process have a better chance of getting a contract—or successfully self-publishing—than writers who simply send their work out into the ethereal realm of the “slush pile.” That goes for books, magazines…even online publishing. So if you’re serious about becoming a published author in any medium, make the time to do a little research.
